Hello, my name is Ricardo Juchem.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Theater but I worked most of my life as a webdesigner on advertising agencies. Since 2017 I changed careers and I started to work as a freelancer pixel art artist.

For the past years, I’m studying art on a daily basis in different forms like digital painting, traditional sketches, 3D modeling, and VR Painting. All the knowledge that I get from those studies, I apply to pixel art. I think that we have to use the new tools to improve the way that we make art and so, because of this, I am not a pixel purist.

Since I started with pixel art, I made all art, UI, and animation for Future Flashback and I now I am working as the lead art director for Chinatown Detective Agency.

I have a passion for lighting and colors and I try to apply this on my backgrounds, my favorite thing to create. Of course, I make characters, but they are not my main focus right now. Oh, and it seems that my art fits well to point-and-click adventure games as I worked on three of them until the present day.
